RACHEL TANG

MASTER OF ARTS IN COUNSELLING PSYCHOLOGY

CCC, CCPA #11241671

My name is Rachel.  From a young age I knew I wanted to both understand and help people. The field of psychology combined these aspirations well for me and continues to drive my vocational pursuits.

After completing a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Psychology, I worked for a centralized research support unit at the University of Saskatchewan. Over the course of twelve years I supported hundreds of unique social and behavioural academic research studies. â€‹

The approach I bring to supporting others is compassionate, humanistic and client-centered, trauma-informed, holistic, culturally aware, strengths-based and justice-oriented.

While I may incorporate evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy or Motivational Enhancement, my approach to counselling is anchored in the belief that you have what you need inside of yourself to promote change and growth.

The therapeutic process will serve to help amplify, extract or harness the answers you already hold. Above any particular modality, I believe therapeutic connection is paramount in helping all tools and strategies land in one’s life more effectively.

Honouring where you are at, every step of the way, I am committed to creating and maintaining a non-judgmental and accepting space to accommodate the vulnerabilities and discomforts that come with change.
