MARCIE DUPUIS
I am a mom, step-mom, dog mom, and passionate about mental health! I enjoy being outside and camping with my family.

My approach to counselling varies on the client. I work with you to describe why you are wanting or needing counselling and how we can work together to benefit you!
I ensure that comfort and safety are key components of any counselling relationship. This allows the client to open-up and be heard with minimal risk to their wellbeing by talking about intense emotions or memories.
Trauma cannot be defined by a specific experience, but by our perception of the experience and it can affect who we become.

Couples Counselling
Couples therapy is literally for every. single. couple!

I have extensive training in couples therapy both with the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy. Every couple goes through stages in their relationship when their communication could use some assistance. Often, couples will seek help when they are in a really bad place-but you don't need to be! Reach out to learn each other's love languages and strategies to get through to your partner.
My approach utilizes the three C’s; Communication, Conflict Resolution, and Connection. Let’s figure out where your relationship stands in these areas!
Perinatal Mental Health
Support when you need it most!
The term perinatal can include the start of the journey to becoming pregnant, being pregnant, and after pregnancy. All of these stages can be complicated and often isolating. Not only that, women who experience fertility issues, loss, or trauma are more likely to develop symptoms of a perinatal disorder. I have accumulated many hours of training with Postpartum International Support to become specialized in perinatal issues.

The pregnancy and giving birth process can be one of the most traumatic moments in a woman's life. Lack of control in the hospital, a minimal support system, and complications during the birth raise the risk of developing PTSD. The loss of a child in-utero or at birth can be traumatizing and require intense grief counselling to move forward and honour their place in this world.

Recognizing any of this and reaching out for help takes bravery.

You are not alone.
These are a few examples, but not an exhaustive list of things people go through during the perinatal time:

Grief
Through both experience and Advanced Grief Training, I can help support you through your grieving process.

Grief is not just losing a loved one! It can be that, or it can be grieving a loss in other ways. A divorce or big breakup, a friendship ending, being rejected, a loss of a home or prized possession, or a loss of the life you thought you would have.

It is important to recognize the grief and manage it with care! Having support to do this is so important. Reach out if you need!
